Steve used to make his films exclusively in Flash, but now he is using After Effects more and more (usually just for camera and lighting effects). It's a beautiful piece, isn't it? He has a unique style... quirky and strangely personal.
Hi, young Mr Terry! Yes, I love how deceptively simple looking this is but how he "edits" his scenes, how he is economical yet succinct in his storytelling really impresses me. I like his sympathetic characters too. It's really great! It's an inspirational model in 2min story telling.
I like the character design Steve chose for this. The faces are just two dot eyes under a pair of eyebrows. Reminds me of the lecture on character design, a few posts back , given by Marc Craste from Studio AKA about a simplified character, with just a pair of eyes, being so effectively expressive.

We should all get across to Southbank to watch Tropfest and see what, if any, the animated films are like.
